Defence Force

Accessing support is a big step - but it can be a very rewarding.

With an extensive background working with the Commonwealth Public Service as a Defence Social Worker and Rural Social Worker, I have worked closely with Defence personnel and their families experiencing adjustment to the military lifestyle and posting cycles. With over 10 years experience, I understand the unique challenges and experiences that military life can bring during service, in transitioning to civilian life, and life after service. For many veterans, military service and operational deployment can also lead to a strong sense of identity and belonging.

I offer a down to earth approach to discuss the issues/problems that respects the individual's uniqueness in a setting that is compassionate, understanding and non judgmental. I work on an open-ended basis or for a set period of time with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully and improve your well being.

I am apart of the Open Arms Outreach Program which is a network of accredited mental health clinicians designed to increase service accessibility for Open Arms clients and support the delivery of services on behalf of Open Arms across Australia.

Open Arms provides free and confidential counselling to anyone who has served at least one day in the ADF, their partners and families. Where there has been a death of a service person, parents and siblings can also access the service. They provide free and confidential counselling and support.
